I agree entirely on the sink problem. What makes it worse is that wide and shallow basins with very short faucets (and especially separate hot and cold faucets, believe me they are still around) are a relic from a by-gone age of plumbing. They were intended to be used as wash basins, in that they would be filled up before use. Now, of course, we recognize this for a potentially huge waste of water and definitely a huge waste of time in waiting for it to fill up.
