"Back in my day..."

We actually had a long, involved, and civilized discussion late last night about political views... war, taxes, welfare, and the like. American presidents actually didn't enter the discussion much, surprisingly. For a change, I was only mildly out of place, due to my lack of history knowledge, particularly about wars. It seems I'm definitely the most traditional, right-wing person of the group. Mike and Richard both hold more unique views, some of which can't actually be expressed by any party because their point is to be individualistic.
