Nov. 22nd, 2004

Wow, I have three days off in a row. Yesterday I did absolutely nothing. I spoke to my father last night and recounted my accomplishments yesterday. I watched one NFL game, I finished watching "The Road to Perdition" (which I started on Saturday night), and I did a little reading.

Other than that...

Today I am planning on being more productive.
I need to:
1) Mail off my check for deposit.
2) Go to the grocery store (!!!)
3) Do some dishes
4) Go through my stack of papers and see if there is anything that demands immediate attention

Other than that...

And I have no clue what I am going to do tomorrow. Maybe I can get some writing done.
So I had never seen "Trainspotting", so I rented it this weekend. I had originally meant to watch it on Friday evening, but...

It was due back tomorrow so I watched it this evening.

Not so much...

I do not see what the big deal everyone makes about it. It was an alright movie, and Ewan McGregor did a good job acting, but the movie just did not move me in any significant way. It seemed like a cross between "FIght Club" and "Requiem for a Dream". The only thing is that those two movies did what they set out to do very well. "Trainspotting" just felt like watching a bunch of losers go about wasting away.

In the end, it was worth watching, but not worthy of the "My favorite movie" crown that people have been placing on it. Final score: 6.1 out of 10.
