Woohoo! Money!

I will save my comments about the new Apple iPhone and the Apple TV until I have had time to fully digest everything.

In the meantime, I would like to thank everyone for allowing me to make a good chunk of change by sending the AAPL stock price up a good 8.3%.

Ditto! In fact the money I made in stock today should allow me to buy one! I am actually going to buy an AppleTV, and want a new AirPort Extreme so my whole house can move video (g is not even cutting it for basic file transfer, frankly, from the desktop to the portables).

My g network can handle movies ripped in Handbrake (about 1GB for a two hour feature), but stutters a bit on my eyeTV recordings (1GB for about an hour).

That is just for playing the files straight off the networked drive.

I use the phrase "When I settle down somewhere..." a lot, but here is something else on the list: When I settle down somewhere, I am also going to route GigE to as many devices as I can. I am disappointed the LAN ports on the new Airport Extreme base station are not GigE. I would probably buy one to do all the routing if it had that (a stack of an Apple TV, an Airport Extreme, and a matching USB 2.0 drive plugged into the Airport Extreme? Nice tower). Without GigE I will have to reevaluate.

Just noticed this in the description of the Airport Extreme (what ever happened to the name "Airport Extreme Base Station"?):

What if you’d like to exchange files over your wireless network and still have access to a network printer? Easy. Just connect a USB hub to AirPort Extreme and attach your devices to the hub. Share both a printer and a hard drive, multiple printers, or multiple hard drives.

That is awesome!
